Regional AI grant: Friuli Venezia Giulia covers up to 75% of costs

The Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia has published a new grant to support the introduction of artificial intelligence technologies into the business processes of micro and small enterprises and freelance professionals, covering up to 75% of eligible costs.

What it is

This is the "Grant for the introduction of artificial intelligence-based technologies into business processes" (Regional Law 19/2025, art. 2 paragraphs 16-19), promoted by the Central Directorate for Productive Activities and Tourism of the FVG Region. The goal is twofold: to support the adoption of AI solutions in business processes and to fund staff skills-development programs in this area.

Who can apply

Eligible applicants are:

  • Micro and small enterprises registered in the business register
  • Freelance professionals

In both cases, a registered or operational office in Friuli Venezia Giulia is required. Companies in bankruptcy, liquidation, or subject to disqualification sanctions are excluded.

Which costs are eligible

The grant covers a wide range of AI-related investments:

  • AI software and platforms, on-premise or cloud
  • Usage licenses
  • Smart devices, sensors and IoT devices
  • Customization and integration of existing systems
  • Routine maintenance
  • Professional training and upskilling provided by accredited bodies

How much the grant covers

The grant covers 75% of eligible costs, up to a maximum of €10,000 per beneficiary. No minimum spending amount is required.

Timeline and reporting

Applications can be submitted from 9:00 AM on June 10, 2026 to 4:00 PM on July 31, 2026. Expenses must be reported within one year of the grant approval notice, with payment within 60 days of reporting.
